The Republicans love to hate the so-called "public option" for health care insurance. They absolutely detest the idea of even having an OPTION for people to buy into public insurance- such as Medicare. They are all for "private market based solutions" as they like to say.
But one thing few Americans know is that the Republicans LOVE the "public option" when it comes to PROPERTY insurance. The Republicans in both Florida and Louisiana have both created PUBLIC insurance companies called "Citizens Property Insurance" to sell property insurance. In fact, Citizens is now the LARGEST insurer of property in Florida.
But you won't hear this on the Republican media. You will hear the same politicians that created these "public option" insurance companies rail about how terrible the idea would be for health insurance. These include folks like Bobby Jindal, Jeb Bush, Charlie Christ and Marco Rubio.
Apparently these folks think that property is more important than people's health care is. It would be nice if the media asked them to explain this.

Some of us in Florida have been asking that question for quite a while. No answers, of course.

I don't know what planet you all are living on. I heard many in the media that call themselves republicans that have no problem with a public option.

The only thing they opposed was everyone being on a public option. Which is the Democrats goal.

Republicans support medicaid don't they? All Obama had to do was expand that program if his only intent was to insure poor people that can't afford private insurance.
