Oregon allows assisted suicide. That is why that woman got that letter. It had nothing to do with a "death panel". She got the drug she desired, and it didn't extend her life much.

(For the record though, allowing assisted suidcide for someone who has chosen it is one thing. SUGGESTING it to someone who has never contemplated killing herself is something entirely different. Did the government health plan pay for the legal, FDA approved drug her doctor prescribed and she wanted? No, it did not. Did a doctor make the decision to deny her the medication? No, that decision was made by state insurance personell, based on dollars, not medicine. Is that EXACTY what was predicted, and warned of, as a reason to not allow governent control of health insurance? Yes, it is. Is this EXACTLY what was referred to as "Death Panels"? Yes, it is.
The fact that the drug maker, Genentech, stepped forward and gave her the drug free of charge does not change the fact that the Oregon Death Panel refused to pay for it.

It's ok with you that a beancounter made a medical decision for this woman in contradiction to her doctors prescription? And if it is ok, why not have the politicians who are pushing for a government run plan come out & say it, admit that it will in fact happen, that Sarah Palin & the republicans were right, that this is what will happen, and that it's a good thing.? Why do they continue to brush aside the concern when republicans bring it up, much as you did, calling it bunk? Same with taxes. YOur post there implied that taxes were not going up, that republicans were just trying to frighten people. Clearly that was wrong too, and now, lo and behold, IT'S OK!!

Your absolute refusal to recognize and admit to the truth even when it's staring you right in the face is stunning. So I'll leave you to the fantasy you cling to, that President Obama isn't going to cause taxes to increase for all who pay federal income taxes, and that a government health plan did not refuse to pay for medications prescribed by a doctor.
