WASHINGTON — Emboldened by the response to President Obama’s face-off with House Republicans last week, the White House is intensifying its push to engage Congressional Republicans in policy negotiations as a way to share the burden of governing and put more scrutiny on Republican initiatives.
Top aides say Mr. Obama intends to follow through quickly on his State of the Union proposal for bipartisan White House brainstorming sessions. Republicans will also be invited to the White House this weekend to watch the Super Bowl, as well as to Camp David and other venues for social visits...(more)
An interesting article that highlights some of the challenges President Obama faces.
Well hope the republicans don't screw it up and I hope that Obama actually does what he says. Some how I think they both will "F" it up. Neither side has the peoples interests at heart they just want to be able to say "they did it". Sicking really.
Bipartisanship after having your ass handed to you via Massachusetts/Virginia/New Jersey, failed healthcare reform, tanking polls, and having your leadership weaknesses exposed is about as hollow as the rhetoric he spewed on the campaign trail.
Just wait. The forum liberals will come in to proclaim that he's keeping a campaign promise, while completely ignoring the facts as they are: This President Is Desperate.
obama came to ask for help then he couldn;t help himself and started preaching the Obama agenda like every speech.Nothing has changed except he is losing support even amoung his own party or that commission he said he favored would easily pass with just his own parties support. they don't support it.

Can it get any more comical then it already is! Bipartisanship after a year. And Mass voters, hand you a present. Can you say no MR. PRESIDENT we are not stupid. Campaign promise, a little late, only to save his face.
Obama Acts to Engage G.O.P., Testing Party’s Intentions
We know he's full of BS. He was again attacking the GOP just yesterday - he needs to tend to his own party members - they are the ones fleeing from his radical agenda.
Obama Acts to Engage G.O.P., Testing Party’s Intentions
Great! Did Obama resurrect some of the proposals offered by the Republicans in the last year for overhauling Health Care (tort reform, eliminating tax deductions for employer-offered HC, eliminating bans on insurance companies competing across state lines etc.), and put them into the Democrats' health care bills to see if Republicans would start to vote for them? You know, the proposals that he lied about in the SOTU address when he claimed Republicans had "done nothing".
I am sure he knows what their intentions are. I suspect he is just embarking on efforts to make more Americans aware of what their agenda, really is. He likely will continue to try to include them, they will continue to not engage, the American people will continue to gain a recognition of that.
