The government of South yemen, was corrupted, they stole everything they got, they killed people who spoke against them, as a matter of fact, one of my relatives at the time, he had people over and he was badmouthing the government, while he was talking there was a spy outside his house, who heard everything he said, so he notified the authorities about it, later that night, police officer knocked the door reaally hard, he opened the door, they asked him ''What were you saying about the government'', he said ''i didn't say anything'', right away the officers shot him in the head and he died at the spot. Boompa the communist government we had was so bad and corrupted, that they started having wars again each other, they completly destroyed South Yemen, people lived in fear for 40 YEARS!, russia used to come and take our resources and the government would not say a thing.

Sadly the yemeni government is taking advantage of ''combating terrorism'' to crack down on the media, which means limiting freedom of expression and all that.

Trying to stamp out 'terrorist networks' is an exercise in futility. As a whole, or military is not geared toward this type of conflict. This is a small unit, widely spread, surgical type of thing, and DC is trying to fight it on a large front, in specific countries. These rodents do not work that way and our leadership refuses to think like they do, and take the fight to them on the same terms. If the 'war on terror' was actually being successful, we would not be hearing anything about it. Things would be pretty quiet all in all. They would have to leak out some info about taking down some cells or what not, public appeasement ya know, but all in all, the campaign would be pretty low key, and it would be happening in LOTS of different places.
