This is now the 2nd attempt to blow up an airplane by muslims in the USA. Both have failed not because they were stopped by security but because the bombs failed to properly explode. BUT one of these days very soon, the muslims will find a bomb that will explode and kill hundreds of people. Those who are not killed by the explosion will enjoy a 30,000 foot fall to their deaths which will take several minutes of sheer terror.
Why do I point this out? Because we always act the same way. We go ape sheet on security- pulling aside 80 year old women and searching them and forcing everybody to go thru hell to get on a plane. Now they want to tell old women that they can no longer cover their legs with a blanket.
Israel has not had a terror attack on a plane in 30 years. Why? Because while we are looking for the WEAPON they are looking for the TERRORIST. Unlike us they do not feel the need to be politically correct when it comes to Muslims on planes. That is what they concentrate on. And the Muslims know it and do not even try to sneak anything on a plane.
We need to do likewise. We need to profile Muslims. If a Muslims wants to get on a plane, he or she should be taken into a private room at the airport and fully interviewed by the FBI as to where they are flying to, why they are going there, who they are going to see while there. And then they should be completely strip searched by police of their own sex. All clothing removed and examined. Body cavities looked at. Baggage gone through by hand one item at a time. And, if they object, they need to given directions to the nearest Greyhound or Amtrak station.
Another thing is that the number of Muslims allowed to fly on a single flight should be limited to only 1 for ever 25 non muslims on the flight. So if a flight has 200 people, 4 of them can be Muslims. This would prevent them from stacking a flight to the point where they can take it over using physical force.
They don't do it to just Muslims in Israel, they do it to EVERYONE. Your 1 Muslim to 25 non Muslim thing is absolutely ridiculous. How are you going to prove if someone is Muslim or not?

Israel treats every passenger as a potential terrorist and everyone is ok with that. It means safer flights and we must all now understand that safety in the skies means longer times before boarding and searches being the norm.

If somebody has a name like "Ali" "Al Haddam" or Muhammed, they are assumed to be Muslim. If they are coming from a country that is more than 50% Muslim, they are assumed to be Muslims.

They want to kill everybody that is not a Muslim. And I am not advocating harming Muslims. I am advocating that we not stand by and allow them to kill us. Not every Muslim is a terrorist and not every terrorist is a Muslim but the relationship between Muslims and airplanes is not a good one.

A lot of us are with you in spirit, Kev, and are out of patience with this PC charade they call security these days. But you know better than to think that "all clothing removed and body cavities looked at" is going to fly (no pun intended). And it shouldn't fly.
You're on the right track in that we do need to profile Muslims, but the devil is in the details.
