Okay, I don't see evangelical Christians going into other countries and killing people, so I don't understand the hateful comparison.
Second, you must not be too aware of history. Up until 1965 this nation had immigration laws set up to keep this country majority European. It wasn't until liberals like Ted Kennedy came along, that this changed.
Third, everything about this country that makes it great originated in Europe. Europeans created this country. This country wasn't created by Muslims, Africans, or Chinese people. It was created by Christian Europeans.
The ideas of liberty and the pursuit of happiness all originate in Europe.
I don't understand why liberals are so for diversity when Third World cultures that liberals like so much, have ten times the problems that "lower class" "white trash" whites have in this country. Yet liberals enjoy finger pointing only at "white trash" and nobody else.
Do you understand what this country will be like the more diverse it becomes? Yes, lets embrace every Third World religion there is. Let's allow Muslims to come here , forcing all women to wear coverings. Let's allow Hindus to come here so we can let cows wonder the streets everywhere. Is this what you want America to be like?

We as Americans - the rejects and persecuted of Europe - came here to escape homogeneous populations and religious/social intolerance. We broke away from the monarchies, ultra-nationalism, and the conformism of that which existed in Europe. We revolted and founded a nation not based on the uplifting of one race, religion, sex, or otherwise but rather a celebration and emphasis of our diversity.
Based upon those principles, millions of people have migrated and developed in this country over the past two centuries from all over the world. Whether they be the descendants of former slaves, Irish immigrants, Jews, Germans, Poles, Scandinavians, Muslims, Chinese, Japanese, et al. They all have a place in this country and all of them are what make this country great.

Those principles, which formed the basis for political Liberalism (not the ideology) started spreading in Europe through the French Revolution, and later through the Napoleonic Wars. The concepts of liberty and self determination were developed by Americans, specially the founding fathers and later more specifically outlined in works such as the Federalist papers. We stood up against the archaic system of kings, queens, and royalty and believed the people are the ultimate source of power for a government.

Christian bashers are sooo (pseudo) sophisticated and intellectual. What a transparently sophomoric lot.
Modern Christians and their organizations, for all their flaws and hypocrisy, are benefactors of incalculable consequence to this Nation....and the World.
Those so acutely offended by Christians are saddled with the fact that: Religion in the World isn't going anywhere soon---regardless their hyperbolic condemnation.
Why does the American Taliban (Evangelicals) think of our country as a Christian-only state? The only people who I've experienced offended by saying Happy Holidays as opposed to Merry Christmas are these American Taliban aka Evangelicals. Seriously, it's just like the Taliban in Afghanistan. They want to impose their religious views on the entire country. The United States is not the Christian equivalent of Israel or any Islamic nation. We are a country that embraces and recognizes our diversity. What is really offensive is idea that all Christians are all alike. The Evangelicals pretend all Christians are just like them. Christians vary considerably in the practices and beliefs. Evangelical specific Christians make up a minority of the population. To impose their views on non-Evangelical Christians, Jews, Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, Agnostics and Atheists is not what the country embraces. The weakness to their argument lay in the insistence that we are the Christian equivalent of Israel. Israel is established as a Jewish state. We are the United States of America which means we are a country that respect all faiths and races.
You just got egg on your face with that last concluding sentence, following a tirade against your personal concept of what evangelicals are like.
It's like fighting inside a paper bag against one's own imagined demons. What a waste of energy.
Besides the fact that yours is an unbelievably hateful post, it is also highly intolerant while pretending to espouse tolerance of diversity.

One of my liberal friends remarked last week that she was not through with her "Christmas shopping". When I pointed out that she was an athiest and "happy holiday" kinda gal, she gave me the usual smirk.
