Absent a major disruption of the al Qaeda camps in Afghanistan following their brilliantly successful attack on the United States I find it hard to believe that as an organization they would have grown in influence and as a result would have been able to launch far more sophisticated attacks from that point on.
Well if the U.S. only bombed al qaeda bases, and captured their leaders instead of invading the country, then everyone would be living in peace.
oh boy, where do we start with this one....Oh, I know, which country and army do they fight for? Oh, oh, what uniform is it that they wear again? oh oh, I got another one,, who's homes did they capture to use as their base?

ha if it was a war like that we would be done by now
After 9/11 there was no option to do nothing about the terrorists in Afghanistan. Iraq was a differnet story. All options were on the table with Iraq.
Where would we be without Afghan invasion? If Bush didn't do something about it, then Kerry would have been elected in 2004, and he would have done something. The bottom line is that any US president would have ordered the Afghan campaign, so there really isn't "what if we had done nothing" scenario.
Tyhe same thign as if we closed out military baes;we would not have a efective fight roces. The terrorist have not struck agian have they in the US?We forget how many forces they are losing everyday.
What would have happened if we hadn't invaded Afghanistan for reasons unclear to any of us, or any of our Leaders?
Over 1,100 of our servicemen would still be alive. 50,000 servicemen would not be dead/disabled/maimed permanently. About $281 billion dollars would not have been taxed from working Americans or borrowed (to be paid back with interest by us and future generations, further depressing the economy).
And the benefits are.....thinking......thinking......making some already-super rich scumbags even richer, and keeping the warmongers happy (as they feel macho sitting in their armchairs).
Does anyone think this was a worthwhile endeavor? Does anyone have anyone but Obama to blame?

Lol...yeah...the guy who started it in the first place
I must say....this thread is more appropriate now than when it was created.
No doubt.
