What are they talking about? Is it meant to be some kind of racist statement?

Of course not. The other white meat is chicken. It is a reminder for consumers that when they don't want to eat red meat or fish, they have another option besides chicken.

I think it's what women are refering to when they compare an english weiner verses an italian salami.

I believe they are referring to Pork - as opposed to Chicken.

You're kidding right?

Chicken is referred to as white meat (as opposed to beef, red meat). Pork is also white. Hence "the other white meat".

They are refering to pork. Chicken has both white and dark meat.

It's funny how that actually works. White meat goes with white wine and is considered a liberal or leftist position. whereas dark meat or red meat is drunk with red wine or beer and is considered a right or conservative position. Hmmmmmmmm

Pork didn't use to be white. With the type of factory farming with controlled diets now being done, the loin of the pig is now as white as the white meat of chicken, the original white meat. The meat of pigs raised the old fashioned way isn't nearly as white. When the producers developed that white loin, the marketing changed to move the thinking of pork as a red meat to that of a white meat. That all happened when red meat started getting a bad health rep.
