Oh, less for sure.

Infrastructure, defense of borders, national parks, not too many other things.

I'd cut the fed by at least 25% across the board...for starters.

Somalia is a perfect example of why I don't want "no government"

The higher quality the populace the less government is needed. A nation of sheeple need big government. What I would like to see is a nation with different levels of government. Small government and plenty of freedoms for those who deserve it and a nanny state for the mentally ill, incompetent and sheeple who need big government. The government should not be by leaders but by Law. A Law written for the common citizen to understand.

More seriously, to those of you who despise government so much I hope you never call the cops if you are in distress, never call the fire department if your house catches fire, never drive on the roads, don't use electricity that comes through the powerlines, don't drink any of the clean water that comes out of your faucets, don't use airplanes that are flown in the US due to the government regulations that ensure they don't crash into one another, don't go to public schools (including public universities), don't send your kids to such schools, don't enroll your kids in Head Start, don't draw from social security when you retire, don't draw from Medicare (or Medicaid), never receive unemployment benefits if you get laid off, don't travel to other countries using your passwords, don't get a drivers license, don't use public transportation of any sort, never get married so you can't draw any government benefits from it, don't complain about illegal immigrants since the only reason they can even be considered illegal is because of the existence of our government, ignore our borders, don't support our troops since they are part of the government, don't visit national parks, don't enjoy the diminished amounts of pollution resulting from regulation, etc.

If you like or use any of the above yet are complaining about the existence of government then, well, you're being rather hypocritical now aren't you?

Honestly, people want to complain about the existence of government but never really stop to think about how damn bad our lives would be without it.

Individuals and industry provide most of our needs, Government is generally corrupt, inefficient and the root of most problems. When big business pollutes the environment or mistreats workers it is under the protection of government. Otherwise nothing would stop a group of neighbors from attacking said polluters. Government means mind control, and it exists whenever a group of people live in close proximity.

Because without government, you have mob rule, rule by the biggest thug, rule by the greatest terrorist.

Of course, sometimes you have those things WITH government (see Mexico, Chicago, and ACORN). But you always have them without government.

The purpose of government is to protect citizens' rights. And there is no other purpose. When you start assigning other powers to govt, you start heading toward Mexico, CHicago, and ACORN.

"All animals are equal - but some are more equal than others".

The problem with that silly idea is that the person for it always assumes he'll be one of the "more equal" ones.
Somehow however, it never works out that way.
