And what would we do there? I have heard several people say it is actually a rather boring place once you are finished photographing the skyscrapers
If I go, I'll go diving, the same thing I do in all warm countries. There's golf and shopping, as well. Personally, I like watching other cultures and seeing what makes them as they are.

Been to other parts of the U.A.E. (Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Doha).
Never got as far as Dubai, sadly
I believe it's not as nice as the other Emirate States (from what I have heard).
If I ever go to that region again, it will be Oman, beautiful landscape.
But I am so anti-Islamic these days that I cannot imagine ever going to any of those places again.

Hehe Really, I have big problems hiding my contempt for that religion. When I was in the Middle East years ago I got involved in conversations on religion on several occasions. Thus I want to avoid any problems, it is as easy as that If a Muslim who despises unbelievers comes to Europe and shows it in conversations, we also tend to think why does he not stay where he came from?

US outrage over Citi loan to Dubai
The US public will be “outraged” by Citibank’s $8 billion loan to Dubai just six weeks after the bank was bailed out, US House of Representatives domestic policy subcommittee chair-man has said. Dennis Kucinich commented on the Dubai loan and other US banking investments as a congressional panel released a report that strongly questioned Citibank’s actions. The report, shown to 7DAYS, cites the Dubai loan as the largest of the “questionable transactions” by banks after the US government bailed them out. It notes that the loan to Dubai’s public sector came on December 14, just six weeks after the US government gave Citibank a $25 billion bail-out.
