This is why I am no longer an AMA member. They are a marxist organization that does not reflect the views of specialists, let alone the majority of its members anymore.

If people want to get high, let them do so. However, it is academically disingenuous to note "medical" benefits of marijuana, as there are no randomized, blinded, prospective studies showing its benefits.

Just make pot legal and do not try to entangle the medical profession in a political agenda.

Obviously you do not realize most doctors are not AMA members, the same as most seniors are not menbers of AARP.

None of the doctors for whom I work belong to the AMA either because they have become a "fringe" group that does not represent the majority of physicians.

medical marijuana! what a stupid argument! trying to convince the world that mj is actually good for people and does no harm! and this movement has intelligent people subscribing to this ridiculous argument!

my position is such, who gives a ****? this is supposed to be a free country, not a country where i run to the big government to ask them if it's ok if i smoke a joint or pop a few pills!!!!!

what i find so sad are the big government cheerleaders like hawkeye 2009 and nmnita! they encourage this nanny state approach hook line and sinker and they make such a compelling argument for our overlords in dc to take away our guns! make no mistake, the pressure to repeal the 2nd amendment will reach fever pitch. a few more columbine/fort hood scenarios and them liberals will get their wish! funny that it is not the liberals who i will blame, it is those shortsighted rightwingers who are giving big govt all the ammunition they need!

I think it's likely that California will legalize it next November.

There have been numerous studies showing the benefits. Recently one study found that smoking everyday destroys and prevents cancer cells of breast tissue. Labs have conductive tests showing all sorts of results. The fact is, we are only recently understanding the missing pieces of how the brain and body work. One big problem is the financial geared perspective BURNED into our brains from educational marketing con-artists. Allow me to point out that dispensaries are just a way of the gov trying to make money from you guessed it, what they don't want YOU to make money from. Think about it, where do you normally get medicine? The pharmacy right? What's wrong with going the pharmacy to get your prescription? Anybody? They want your money. If anybody wants to argue this, I should also point out that 80% of the world is using herbal medicine, why? Because it's not only cheaper, it's better for you and the environment. In fact huge pharmaceutical companies have been poisoning us with there overwhelmingly overpriced synthetic drugs that are actually BAD for you. The future is organic, economical solutions. Americans need to stop producing high priced solutions that are destroying ourselves, and our pockets. And by the way ritalin and adderol are basically cocaine and crystal meth, commonly prescribed for ADHD(most likely caused by overstimulation from video games and lack of proper interaction) which can easily be greatly improved by eating brownies.

hey socialguide nice,

since the beginning of recorded history - NOBODY, NOBODY HAS EVER DIED FROM SMOKING MARIJUANA. if it was totally legal - great. look at all the free beds in prison, you could put real criminals in.
legalize it, tax it, and the national debt goes away. it could even pay for our health reform, which needs a radical adjustment - not the ball shot that's going on now.
it's clear to me that you've never been sick and had no appetite as many with cancer have. after a few tokes off a joint, you feel at feel at ease and you're hungry. and don't give me this crapp that it's a gateway drug.
ignorance is bliss.

The purpose of this thread...again...was not to debate the efficacy of mm it is about the wholesale changes of communities and the environment. The purpose of the thread is to give Arkansas voters the real time opportunity to look at california and what has happened to negatively change the state
Your vote will change your state....and if it isnt carefully used you will see the same things will happen. Look at the facts
See the damage it has done....proponents of mj dont like to address the real and serious issues that have occurred because compassionate people said...ok..lets try this out.....it has been a failure
