I wonder how much of this attitude is drug induced.

The real scary part is that 5 out of the 6 you mentioned are all Obama supporters ..

That's very optimistic..I'd say 8 out of 10 don't know and don't seem to care.

Seriously, I bet more than half the Democrats are so removed from current events or reality it is scary. My nieces and nephews are the same way. No clue. They loved Obama, though, and can't wait for all the free stuff they are going to get. They are mostly between 25 and 30. I talked to my niece today and she also had no idea. When I told her that she will have to buy insurance (mandatory) if the whole thing goes through, she did not believe me. She really thinks it is going to be free.

I have nine Democrat and two Republican nieces and nephews. Youngest is 21, oldest is 31. They drive nicer cars than me, have far more than I had at their age many moons ago, and still complain that they are poor. My income is likely greater than the sum of their income combined. Despite their ignorance, they are family. Have to love them anyway.
I think you would find that most of the people in that age group that voted in such huge numbers for old Hopenchange don't really know any more than your young relatives do. They do mostly think they will get their healthcare free because they don't know that this bill is to reform insurance and not care. They will probably wake up soon but it will be too late. They are sure that he was the man to have and they didn't really look beyond that when they voted for him.

Peggy finally we agree on something. You are so right and it makes no difference which side you are on. You get a rep from me.

I surely agree with your numbers and they may not be high enough.

Default Bone heads

Many of these folks think that they will be in the inner circle of all this Socialist crap. But, they will soon find that their life is much more miserable and they are not included in the elite crowd.
I try to inform young people as to what is going on and what they have to loose.
What we have here in America is a lot of ignorant people that think the country is invincable. The USA can fail just like any other nation.

It probably simply reflects that most people in this country are happy with the state of their health care.

Anyone you know like this?
Most I know have an understanding of what is going on. They don't like it, they think there is nothing they can do about it.

Personally, I think the people have been very clear about the issue. I just don't think Congress cares and the only thing that will stop them from doing what they want is if we storm congress and hang them all as an example. Though that is about as likely to happen as a person is to win the lottery who doesn't play it.
