when bush was president i remember people complaining about:

- the (possibly illegal, definitely unwise) war he started
- his infringements on privacy and civil rights
- his failure to stop what he was doing and make an appearance during an ongoing natural disaster
- his record-setting vacation time

i don't recall hearing anything negative about:

- what his wife was doing as first lady
- every single state visit he did or did not make (ones obama goes to are "vacations", ones he doesn't go to are shameful snubs)
- every weekend trip or night out he took

the only thing i can think of that bush was routinely attacked for that even approaches the pettiness of what people here say about obama every day is his silly misstatements.

it's telling that i've brought up the fact that people criticized obama for going to the anniversary of d-day several times in threads on this subject and not one person criticizing obama for not going to this anniversary has addressed it. the hypocrisy here is blatant. i'm sure i could go back and find some of the same people who are attacking obama for not going to germany attacking him for going to france.

Obama takes heat for...

taking his wife to dinner
putting his daughters in private school
going to church
talking to his allies
talking to his enemies
acknowledging that racism exists
buying a dog
smoking
buying a guy a beer
using the word "stupidly"
having a black father
having a white mother
being named Barrack Obama
marrying a black woman
having black kids
allowing his mother in-law to live in WHitehouse
throwing parties
etc.,etc, etc,...

where does this Berlin Wall thing rank amongst the other ever so important things he's "taken heat" for??

Just look at the man's schedule: He had a 10 a.m. daily briefing from the intelligence community, a 10:30 a.m. economic daily briefing, an 11 a.m. meeting with senior advisers
. . . and then, right after that, at 6:45 in the evening, he had to sign an executive order about hiring veterans, and at 7 p.m. he had a meeting with Israeli prime minister Netanyahu (with preconditions).
