“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

These words of the head of the Socialist Party USA back in the 1940s tell me much but how will we know when we have arrived? It started with the Progressive Movement in the early 20th Century and really got rolling in the 1930s with FDR. Now we are gaining swiftly on the end with some of the things coming from our government. Who will be able to tell us when we have finally taken on the whole thing? Who will tell us, even if they can?

Unfortunately, we're no where near becoming a socialist nation.

I'm really tired of this ridiculous myth that Obama, the Democrats, and liberals are "socialists."

Listen, I actually happen to be a socialist, and as a socialist, let me assure you that they aren't socialists. Obama and the Democrats voted in favor of using tax payer money to bail out the banks, the proverbial heart and soul of capitalism, and Obama has people from the banking industry in his administration. That's not socialism. Neither is dismissing single payer in favor of a public option. Believe me, I wish Obama really was a socialist, because then I'd have a real reason to vote for him again besides keeping the National Soci, err, excuse me, I mean "Republican" Party out.

Rest assured, socialism has little to no voice in Washington, our elected politicians are all capitalists and corporatists looking out for the interests of our masters while having little real concern for the rest of us.

The new government will deploy a fleet of skywriters to cover the skies with the word "SOCIALISM." So everyone in the country will know at the same time!

There is a good question what was the alternative to the Progressives and the New Deal? Before these reformers changed America there were people who worked 6 days a week for at least 12 hours a day doing heavy labor and were happy to earn a dollar a day. They counted them selves lucky it was real money because many were given only Company script only good in the Company store were you bought what the company supplied at the companies price. You didn't need a choice and get back to work. You didn't have this regulation crap and few public schools or libraries because a majority of Americans were functionally illiterate. This was America in 1880. If these moderate reformers hadn't moved when they did there were other voices. Real Communists of either the Leninist or Trotskyite schools. If you think Progressives are nasty socialists comparing them to the Leninists and Trotskyites is like comparing a head cold to a full up case of Malaria. What if the Great Depression had been resolved by these guys. How about sending the Wall Streetersand corporate bosses to Corrective Labor camps where they would toil building the State's infrastructure. Communism is Soviet Power and the electrification of the entire country (A Lenin quote). Now there were other voices who took inspiration from that little Corporal with the dynamic oratory. He told his people they were a great and special race who were being corrupted by race degenerates like Jews or Gypsies. If the Reich had had Negros he would have added them to the list. America had the Bund and Father Couglin, Huey Long and a KKK numbering millions. So America could have marched to its own race based future choicing its enemies from its many minorities to be cleansed from the sacred homeland. Hitler might have not needed to bring his vision to America it might have been already here ready to extend him a welcome. So we have several alternative Americas and we can only guess if we hadn't chosen the path Teddy, Woodrow and Franklin lead us down.

You'll know when dress you up in a Che Guevare t-shirt and red beret and march you down to the local FEMA indoctrination camp.

Our comrades in France are sending over gay union members to run the place, while we commence to building our Socialist utopia led by our Kenyan overlord.

It won't be long wingers....we're coming to get you!......LOL

Do you often look in on CPUSA Online -

Maybe if you had seen that place right after the election last fall you would think a bit different. No matter what you have, or not, done you need to think about what old Norman said. He didn't come close to election but he surely knew what was happening.

You won't know. It will creep up on us slowly. The signs are there though for those that see them.
We are on our way.
