T. Boone Pickens told Congress that U.S. companies were losing opportunities in the Iraqi crude oil and natural gas sectors to competitors from China and Europe.

The senior executive said the United States could lose all influence in the Iraqi oil sector after the military withdrawal in 2011.

True, but he is fun to listen to. Sort of reminiscent of Arthur Godfrey or Tennessee Ernie Ford in a way. Of course, those two have been replaced these days by Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck. What a comedown there! In any case, Pickens has a point. Through its bungling and mismanagement of virtually every aspect of this unforgiveably lurid Iraqi misadventure, the US is managing to come out of it with the short end of the stick on almost every score. Through a dear price, we have managed to gain less than nothing. This just isn't going to read as any sort of proud moment at all in the history books...

I am sure that you personally do not drive an automobile, use no plastics, and do not heat or cool your house. Other Americans, like myself, do like heat and fuel.

Of course the war was about oil. So what? Would you have felt better if it was about tangerines? Pickens, despite your foul, disgusting curse, is for renewable energy and natural gas. Isn't that what you libs want? Libs are so confused sometimes, they even hate what they like.

We know that. But did Bush and the oil companies know that ?

Must have been the biggest slap in the face when China got the deal.

..and wasn't that oil supposed to pay for the war? Bush said it, so I thought it was the truth.
Better tell the Chinese that part of that belongs to us...wait, we can't...the Chinese own us now.

The high cost of cheap goods. The higher cost of raping Iraq, and expecting Iraq to foot the bill for the violation. Shock and Awe wasn't on sale that week. Wake UP America ! (oops too late)
