They should have called Healthcare Reform "Cash for A Clunker" with all of the payoffs/deals/bribes Congress and the White House are making to get support for this turkey.

Now, in addition to the special deals they are cutting with all of the different special interest groups/lobbies, they are trying to bestow favoritism bonuses to some states but not all states. So, in essence, Harry Reid is not only trying to get healthcare reform through, but he's going to go back to the Nevada and say something like, "Look what daddy brought home for you...oh yeah, and don't forget to vote for me."

Then there's the $250 dollars to seniors who didn't get a COLA because the cost of living didn't go up but as a voting demo, they didn't support healthcare reform so let's give 'em some money to shut them up. Then there's the AMA (didn't we read a couple of weeks ago that they represent less than 20 percent of practicing physicians), the hospitals and the drug makers promised payoff to get support:

When are the payoffs/bribes with your tax dollars going to stop to support turkeys like healthcare reform or the stimulus bill that hasn't exactly changed the unemployment numbers or the number of foreclosures? The payoffs to GM? The payoffs to financial institutions? The payoffs to the environmental lobbies and unions? Who is waiting with their hands out on the cap and trade energy bill that's languishing and will cost you more money both in your utility bills, at the pumps and everything you buy as businesses pass down their costs to you?

And how about the newspaper bailout rumblings? If you think the press is full of fanboys now, wait until they get some government largesse and they'll all be singing romantic ballads about administration proposals especially if it will save their jobs. Is that going to make you run out and buy more of their newspapers or will they be in the same sinking boat down the road?

The government, your government, is acting like Tony Soprano. Everybody with their hand out is going to be beholden and owe favors. You won't be able to trust anyone's motive.
