Health Car Industry breaks truce over health care reform and puts anti-trust protection on the table.
I love it.
"After the health-insurance lobby released a report trashing the Senate finance committee's health care bill and started airing granny-scaring TV ads, the Democrats decided playing defense isn't enough. Time to go after the insurance industry's antitrust exemption."
So now we know..the insurance worked a deal years ago regarding anti-trust.
Now repealing that WOULD be a great start to health insurance reform.
Better that then throwing money into a broken system that has no chance of being fixed.
Make sure not to cross the government or they will pay you back. Remain silent and you will be taken care of.
By the way what industry wasn't caught up in the recent financial collapse? Yup the inurance industry because it is regulated by state governments not the Feds, smart move bringing insurance under Fed control.
Competition is nice but taking away the profit motive would be better.
Lets take this one step at a time.
Should insurance companies be free to compete with each other or should they be protected from competition by state regulation and exemption from anti-trust. If they are to be protected then what does the American public get out of the deal?

Well I am known for wanting to put the horse before the cart...
But yes, insurance companies should be able to rip off as many people as they can in as many states as they can all in the sake of the all mighty dollar.
