David Horowitz(a former communist ), once said that liberals are only liberal about two things: Sex and Drugs, other than that they are constantly trying to control people's lives.....
In any event it's money grab/controlling people. Here's the issue I have with it. I don;t drink much soda or eat much junk food for that matter because that is what I choose to do BUT when I go and buy a soda there is no reason I should have to pay extra for it becsue someone else can't control themselves.
These food laws are what are next on the agenda, first it's trans fat, now it's sugar in soda, next it will be beef and we'll all be eating tofu in 30 years. I know the argument is that I'm being ludicrous but if 30 years ago I suggested that the owner of a private business establishment would not be allowed to decide whether his customers could smoke in his establishment I'd have been called crazy too.
There is already laws that have been passed in California I came across where they were limiting the amount of fast food places in some areas and others forcing corner stores to have X amount of fresh fruit and vegetables whether they could sell it or not. These laws were aimed at inner city areas but none the less they still exist.
