There are plenty of good reasons to slap another person's child. I was robbed at gun point by a child in a parking deck. If I could have got that gun away from that little SOB then I would have lit his butt up until I couldn't feel my hand. He's lucky I didn't blow his head off with my 44 Mag when he reached for the money.
If someone's child hit me, one of my kids or grandkids....reflexes would take over. For crying or creating a disturbance? Not likely. Also, in the instance of the man hitting the woman's child for crying....in the store. If it were my child, there would have been a brawl. For the one who said he corrected the boys who weren't minding their gramma...my hat off to you sir. I'm sure your actions were much appreciated. I know I would have appreciated your assistance. However, I never NEEDED anyone else's assistance. There was only ONE time my kids ever got totally out of hand in a public place...I humiliated them terribly...brought them to tears. It never happened again. My kids knew I meant business. I never beat them, but they KNEW to never, ever misbehave in public. They might bicker and run around at home, but never in public...They would have spent a serious amount of time alone in their rooms when we got home and it would have been a cold day in H*LL before they got to go shopping with me again. It is absolutely unacceptable behavior....simply not tolerated. As I said, two of my boys only tried it once, never again...it was far too embarrassing.
