no we do not object! our government is CURRENTLY allowing the drilling off of florida's coast, just not for the benefit of the united states!
all of these oil deals will strengthen other countries to the detriment of the united states. the worst part is that AMERICAN money is being used to finance THEIR expansion!
for the poster who would defend this oil expansion, where were you when america should have been drilling for oil so we would not even be in this situation now? this is now part of a global corporate setup to help "emerging" nations (to invest in emerging economies) at the expense of "developed" nations, which the globalists feel are "tapped out", having reached their "credit limit".
Even if we allowed drilling everywhere, very little of it would be for the US. You sell where the profits are higher. Just like the lumber industry. We get our lumber from canada and ours gets sold to japan.

Imagine all the AMERICAN jobs that would be created, though?

They would bring in workers from other countries......it would be cheaper. There are plenty of experienced, out of work, Spaniards, Brazilians, Norwegians, Dutchmen, Mexicans, Englishmen, and Australians for off shore oil-rigs already.
“U.S. EXPORTERS TO BENEFIT FROM A $2 BILLION EX-IM BANK PRELIMINARY COMMITMENT TO BRAZIL'S PETROBRAS
WASHINGTON, D.C.: Small and large U.S. companies may benefit from a nonbinding preliminary commitment of $2 billion in financing from the Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank) to encourage purchases of U.S. goods and services by Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras), Brazil's national oil company. Pending a final approval, the financing is anticipated to support more than $2.2 billion of U.S. exports to Petrobras.â€
“Brazilian state-run oil company Petrobras and the Export-Import Bank of the United States announced a preliminary $2 billion commitment to promote trade between Brazil and the U.S. and explore import-export possibilities.
Pending final approval, the financing could bankroll more than $2 billion in U.S. exports of goods and services to Brazil.
Under the agreement, Brazil could use the finances to develop offshore oil and gas reserves and upgrade refining and distribution infrastructure, Ex-Im Bank said.â€

From a national security viewpoint, where do you think it would be smarter to have access to a large oil field, Iraq or Brazil? The entire Islamic world is going to explode in our lifetimes, mark my word. Saudi Arabia is a disaster waiting to happen. Iraq will collapse the day we walk out. We spent ONE TRILLION there while the geniuses in this thread cheered, which one do you think is more of a fools errand, Iraq or Brazil?
We loaned them $2 billion that we don't have.
China loaned them $10 billion (which they do have) and Brazil may use their oil field company over any US based one.
So who do you think Brazil will be more loyal to in the end ?
It looks like we did that so we don't get shut out of oil from them.

What people don't know or are not bothering to understand is that this type of transaction is what Ex-Im is all about.
Ex-Im Bank is the official export-credit agency of the United States. The independent, self-sustaining federal agency, now in its 75th year, helps to create and maintain U.S. jobs by financing the sale of U.S. exports, primarily to emerging markets throughout the world, by providing loan guarantees, export-credit insuranceand direct loans. Nice work. Don't expect these bird brains to comprehend it though.
Interesting how facts elicit no response yet misinformation results in hysteria.
