Well, Obama would not have won the president if the majority of the population did not support his #1 agenda of a public backed health care option, so while there is a vocal minority present at these debates, they are clearly not the majority.
Think back to the US just 6 years ago, when we went to war with Iraq. There was a very vocal minority of voters, that consistently showed up yelled, screamed, and made a lot of noise, but at no point in the Iraq war debate, at the time, were they ever the majority of citizens. Now, you could argue years later many supporters of the war including myself my have shifted their opinion based on emerging data and facts, but the loudest people in the room are usually the smallest. They are loud and obnoxious for a reason. They just do not have the strength in numbers.
Think about this the AARP only lost 60,000 members. The AARP has 35.2 Million Members, what does this data suggest?
Even amongst the Elderly or those over 50, there is not a lot of support against the public option. I would assume, if the support against a public option were so strong, we would have seen perhaps 2-10 million members drop their coverage not just a few hundred thousand.
While television cameras have focused on vocal opponents to health
care reform, in many cases they have been outnumbered by supporters
of the legislation in general and a public option in particular.
In Phoenix, Arizona, "Pro-Obama demonstrators appeared to outnumber (http://www.azstarnet.com/allheadlines/305326 - broken link)
the anti-Obama ones (http://www.azstarnet.com/allheadlines/305326 - broken link), with Phoenix police estimating the crowd at 1,200 to
2,000 at locations around the convention center."

and those gun toting folks in phoenix are about as conservative as one could get...
even if you support healthcare reform, you would have to be a complete idiot to support the plan the president is pushing. people who support it dont know anything about it, they just like the idea of everyone being covered.
