OH dear. What else is going to come out of the Republican party?

He resigns only to go to China.

Oh, just imagine the outrage if this had been a DEMOCRAT!!!

From the link, here's a short excerpt: "... Huntsman is a moderate Republican who was the most popular governor in state history ... led efforts to normalize the state's notoriously quirky liquor laws, revamped the state's tax code and .... grabbed nationwide attention for saying he supported civil unions and that the national Republican Party needs to be more inclusive if it wants to come back from widespread losses and move beyond the borders of the Rocky Mountain west and the South...."

Wow, an honest, common-sense GOP'er of the old-school type, bordering on being a Libertarian, and waaaaaay to moderate for the GOP we have today. Even more remarkable is that he's popular in Mormon-heavy Utah, where there is strong antipathy to civil unions and/or anything that remotely smacks of gay marriage. I'm surprised that Limbaugh, Hannity, et al, haven't already called him on the carpet for his moderate / progressive stances. Who knows, maybe he'll switch parties too, like Sen Specter.
