Hundreds of thousands of Americans died to protect our freedoms, yet we freely march into the economic chains of socialism.

I really hope Obama's successor and/or a sane Congress can reverse the damage done to a free market system that has served us so well.

To the OP, I heard brieftly that a man who made a drunken threat against candidate Obama was sentenced to five years in prison.

Wasn't there a movie showing the assasination of George Bush? Didn't it receive some sort of award?

Obviously, as long as the target is double plus goodspeak, it's a movie. If it's double plus badspeak, it's a jail sentence.

Interesting results of this poll of people....

Huge majority think country is going downhill.

This also seems to hold true for the rest of society as consumer confidence is falling even more.

I voted no opinion. When will 100% of the stimulus money be in circulation?

I certainly hope so. They'll have to find a job in this "new economy". IMHO, our standard of living will be lower for at least a generation.

Any ideas on what those jobs will be in this 'new economy'???

Perhaps everyone will work for the fedgov.

One group will dig holes and then another group will fill them in,all being paid from their own packets via taxes.

Oh no, the opposing parties leader is going to kill us all. Partisan bull.

In the last 28 years we have had 20 years of Republicans and 8 of Democrats in control, and the deficit and budget shortfalls have increased dramatically. Both parties need to get their head in the game and fix it.

I believe that CONgress and the POTUS are both from the same party right now and can push through their agenda more easily...as long as they can keep the members of their own party in line.

As to fixing 'it',that isn't the goal in my opinion,it is to consolidate power.
