Dow closed today at 8,915

Nasdaq closed at at 1,916

This makes the 7th day in a row that the Dow has gone up.

Dow has risen 38% from it's March 2009 low of 6,469.

I hope all the unemployed workers are cheered by this news.

Somehow, though, I think not. They'll probably just take it as more evidence that Obama's economic stimulus has only hepled the rich.

But hey -- who cares about the working class? Most of them are probably pro-life and don't even know what arugula is.

well the nutjobs here were blaming Obama when the market was down...its up 900pts since he took over.

Hmm....if the indication is a year out - next year's going to be a nice rebound overall....

Some people just can't be happy for us. Some people just wish for failure and collapse just so they can say, "Look! My ideology was right!"

Well, I'm sure being the well versed economist that you are, you already know that employment rate is the last indicator to return in an economic downturn. All the leading indicators are on their way up.

So, be happy.

C'mon, Eeyore. Good news is good news. If the recession has bottomed out and things are starting to get better, unemployment will decrease too. Give it a bit more time.

Exactly, where's sanrene!

I can always tell when "thefinalsay" posts on a page as soon as I open it, the only posts I need to scroll about 2" to the right to read the whole post are his so I just skip them! Man your location has a lot of letters, way more than Mississippi!
