Eventually ALL empires cost the Imperial Country more than they are worth. The trick is to realize the proper moment to drop the thing before it bankrupts the country. I think we missed about 1965 when we went into Viet-nam to save the French investor community. We really went way too far trying to "democratize the WOG's" under the Bush/Cheney Imperium. Apparently Afghanistan really is the place Empires go to die.

Iraq was a "shovel ready" project. Think of the jobs.

is this statement a joke? seriously, this is 2nd grade logic.

We seemingly got NO return on the Iraq investment, the jury's still out on Obama's.

He is failing in his attempt. After he signed the first spendulous bill he stated that unemployment would not reach 8%, it's now at 9.6 and expected to reach 10% shortly. He is spending us into bankruptcy, but you Obamatrons will never question Dear Leader. Dear Leader appreciates your unconditional devotion.

Well, these wars will have cost trillions before all is done, and have bankrupted the country, but maybe it was worth it... the world is a 'better place without Saddam' - isn't it? That is what I kept hearing over and over, when it was discovered later that there were no WMD and no 'mushroom clouds' being concealed by Saddam.
Now Iraq is rampant with 'terrorists', whereas Saddam controlled them (by killing them). Now Iraq is run by Islamic Fundamentalists, whereas under Saddam they were effectively squelched.
So maybe the world is not a better place without Sadaam after all - so now what is the justification for over a million dead Iraqis, over 4,000 dead Americans, and trillions wasted that could have rejuvenated America? No answer to be found? Maybe Bush can find it under his desk somewhere.

In case you missed it the first time: Obama's the president; been that way for over 6 months now.

You just proved my point as you have come up with no facts, links or intelligent debate to defend your remark. Par for the course.

Unfortunately, that shovel is being used to bury a lot of Americans.

Think of the deaths; think of the 30k+ wounded, think of the families of the dead and wounded, think of the broken families of those military members.
For a moment, think of the dead Iraqi and Afghani citizens and their families.
Think of their pain, too.
