No controversy . Girls have problems, boys have problems.

Yeah sure. Dr. Kleinfeld may not like to say it but this seems fairly serious to me.

"In her review, she cites data from the National Center for Health Statistics to show the "alarming" suicide rate among boys"

Again, what does your response have to do with the quote of mine you used?

NO one , neither I, nor Dr. Kleinfeld, said it wasn't serious.

To be fair, here's the entire quote:

Quote:
"I, like Dr. Kleinfeld, don’t want to say that one [gender] has more problems than the other," said William S. Pollack, the director of the Centers for Men and Young Men at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School. "But it tends to be boys whose deeper problems are not looked into, and for whom programs that exist are not funded...that’s absolutely true."

Your statement was no contorversy- boys have problems girls-have problems as if this isn't any more serious than any problems girls are experiencing. This is a significantly nore serious problem than any the girls may be experiencing.

You're stating an "as if'....I stated a fact.

The level of seriousness does not negate the problems or level of seriousness of one group over the other.

Quit talking about me like I am not here. I'm not terribly sympathetic to this "poor boy" stuff. There have been plenty of studies showing that boys get more attention from teachers in school (negative and positive) and the like.

No, I didn't read that link, but I've read much of the same, for years, actually. This is not a new "problem".

Point out where I say I'm not sympathetic towards males.

Why do you feel it's obligatory to say "wow, poor kids" ???

My goodness, are you a fundamentaist Christian? Well you must be, because it seems that if something isn't said exactly no other conclusion can be drawn from words.
