I constantly hear gays, and gay supporters tell us, "being gay is natural, haven't you heard of gay penguins, or gay ducks in nature." It is indeed a compelling argument, if God created gay ducks, gay penguins, and other animals, is it so crazy that he might have created gay humans?

Yes it is. And there are many holes in the argument. Being gay is certainly a choice and very unnatural, whether you believe in evolution (in which only the strongest live), or in creation, is in NOT natural.

In the case of evolution: we should be pre-conditioned not to have gay sex, as it is unproductive (or unreproductive). If we have supposedly evolved, the "gay-gene" would have been killed off, because it serves no use. Gays have no practical use in nature. They cannot reproduce, therefore would become extinct very quickly. The only possible solution if being gay is natural is that it is a genetic mutation, such as a mental illness, which is certainly possible.

In the case of the Bible: Do I really need to go there? Sodom and Gomorah...

Finally, this idea, that God perhaps created gay animals, and if animals are gay, it must be OK and normal for humans, right? If we are using the logic, that because animals without human coaxing might be gay in nature, that humans can and should do that same action, then humans should perhaps eat their young as some animals do that. Perhaps humans should kill the weakest amongst us, as some animals do that. Perhaps humans should hurl their feces at one another, as monkeys do that (and their DNA is just 0.1% different from ours )

The truth is that there is NO evidence that being gay is natural, because it isn't. They never found this "gay gene" because it doesn't exist.

Gay choose to be deviants, and should not be extended the rights of people who choose not to be deviants, such as marriage.

Scientific study upon study has shown that homosexuality is inherient in nature as is heterosexuality..

but obviously coming from a Theological standpoint, science doesn't really matter in your argument..

It is natural to have a sex drive. That sex drive includes a range of behaviors. We put labels on various behaviors that don't fall in the middle ranges of those sexual behaviors. That label doesn't mean that some of a person's sexual urges don't fall into the middle ranges, only that some of a person's sexual urges fall outside the middle ranges.

The labels aren't a bad thing. It is a good thing to identify deviant behaviors that involve harming other people. However, I don't think that sex between two consenting adults that doesn't harm anyone should be anyone's business except the two adults involved. I don't care what you do in your bedroom, I don't care what anyone does in their bedrooms as long as no one's being hurt. Sex is natural.

Lets go with your premise for a minute that there is a 'god'.

Why did god create people with nearsightedness? It is not natural as they should all have stumbled into a tar pit or be unable to recognize edible grasses and berries thus starving to death prior to reproducing.

Why did god create people who are left handed? All normal people are right handed and left handed people are prone to severe pinches when trying to manipulate their binders at school.

Why did god create fair skinned people? People have to go out in the sun, right? But fair skinned people get severe sun burns that makes them more vulnerable to skin cancer.


As to your assertion that gay people choose to be gay......I don't think so. When I think of having sex with another women it grosses me out. I could not go there. I could not fake going there. Gay people are the same. Or are you saying that you could imagine yourself having sex with another man (or woman, depending on your sex)?

Fell better now? Sorry, but I do not believe our laws are governed by your religous beliefs. If gays are allowed to have civil unions or marriages it has no effect on yours. Your marriage, if you are married, is between you and God and the state and is no one elses business.

Gay is natural to gay people. They get a boner when they are intimate with a dude of their liking. That reaction is normal to them.

Christian people will approach gayness as a disease, flaw, or disorder that needs to be prayed about and corrected through biblical counseling or punitive means.

Problems with the OP:

1. Assumption that all sexual desire is for the purpose of procreation. Extensive research has shown significant psychological, physical, and community benefits to sexual release and contact. It would be like saying every kiss must be a deep throat tongue experience of passion.

2. Evolution is not about only the strongest living. It is about mutual benefit. Research in the animal kingdom has shown value of homosexual relationships to furthering the betterment of the overall group.

3. There was absolutely no point in introducing Bible verses into a discussion about the scientific validity of homosexuality. Irrelevant and meaningless to the discussion.

4. Extensive research has shown that humans have a natural range of sexual behavior - few are completely homo or hetero. Ergo, leave people alone. Let them live their lives. It is natural.
