This is the opening monologue, with a cameo by John McCain.
Operation Iraqi Stephen: Going Commando - John McCain | June 8,2009 | ColbertNation.com
I enjoyed his comments about the "old lady firing rockets into the ocean".

Colbert has a biting sense of humor and a real wit which puts him above the likes of John Stewart. And he's never sunk into true hate and meanness which puts him above Bill Maher. He's also pretty objective in his comedic attacks and observations and not given to bizarre ravings which puts him above Robin Williams. I think the troops will be entertained. But this has to be all about THEM and not just a trip to promote his show.

Hysterical!

The haircut routine between Gen Ordinero and Obama, priceless.

Probably the funniest Colbert Report in recent memory.
I appreciate what he's doing for those troops.

AFN (American Forces Network) is even advertising his show this week.
They tried to cancel him and Jon Stewart a few years ago but that backfired big time.

Certainly one of the best episodes of Colbert to date! My favorite moments had to be the part where Colbert goes to Fort Jackson, and McCain reminding the soldiers to clean their muskets (something he learned at Valley Forge..)!

I sure hope they'll release the full version of the episode on the next DVD.

"Iraq must be great, because I understand some of you keep coming back again and again"
(paraphrasing)

I really enjoyed Colbert declaring victory in Iraq.
And yeah, the bit with the general and Obama was great.

Loved every bit of this show.
