I figured I would ask some simple questions to get an idea on where the frequent & semi-frequent people stand on some issues:

Economy - European socialism thru zero taxes and complete laissez faire?

States Rights vs. Federal system?

Religion in Federal / State Laws and the classroom vs. Religion only in the Church? (and if so what religion?)

Guns for all, or just guns for true militia, or no guns at all?

International intervention: leave them be vs. interventionist?

And to make it less discrete ... what is the most important issue to you?

I can start off. For me, I think that there should be a flat tax and that's it, unless you make less than some number as a percentage of the local mean income, somewhere between 10-20%. Any surplus would be taken to pay off our ENORMOUS debt and reinvest in our infrastructure and programs to promote science.

I am for States Rights. I think the Federal gov't should only exist as a protector, lawmaker, and tax-man, not an overseer.

I believe religion should only exist in the home and in church.

Guns should only belong to people who need them to make a living and to well-organized militias. Originally the Constitution protected individuals' rights to gun ownership, but times have changed. We no longer worry about the redcoats coming.

For international matters ... I'm totally for non-intervention, except in obvious cases where they present a clear and present danger. E.G. North Korea.

To me the most important issue is rebuilding our nation's infrastructure and establishing ambitious programs to make kids like science again, to make them go "oh wow!" We have some of that, but not enough in my opinion.

Austrian School

The federal government should have few responsibilities, such as providing for a national defense, and mediating disputes between states.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. Pretty simple.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Again pretty simple. People have the RIGHT to bear arms. Does anyone really think that the framers of the Constitution would think it necessary to add an amendment to the Constitution that would forbid Congress from restricting the government from possessing firearms? Because that is the nonsensical logic that seems to be used by those who claim that the right only applies to government regulated militias.

The Framers just finished fighting a war for independence that would have been impossible if regular people did not have personal firearms. Only an idiot would think that they would then intend to take away the very thing that allowed them to become free in the first place.
You don't like it, then change the Constitution. Until then, don't try to convince me that the original intent was that the right to bear arms only applies to government regulated militias.

Intervention only in cases where national security is at risk

Term limits and/or the repeal of the 17th Amendment to the Constitution.
