Michael Steele refused to express his personal opinion on torture on Meet the Press today. He totally shucked the question. What a coward!!

I didn't pay much attention to the players running for Steele's position.
From his performance so far, I can't say a lot positive about him.
I suspect he won because he had black credentials, had held high office, and is a wishy washy "centrist."

The R party is badly divided and would IMO do far better with a conservative at the top than another open borders appeasement centrist who holds D-lite positions.

And as bad as McCain was, I doubt he'd have done the Fidel Castro bit with American business that O has done.

Yet no R has even stood up and said O should be impeached for his vast unconstitutional seizing of private industry.

Steele, or Tin?

Steele is a Catholic and the bishops have applauded the US eschewing torture as a means of eliciting information. So, Steele was caught between faith and the GOP. It is not an easy place to be and he was dancing on the head of a pin.

What has Michael Steele's personal opinion on torture got to do with anything? Not like he's in any position to interpret government/political actions of the last twenty years.

Wasn't that some prominent, leading politician who used that pay grade excuse last summer? It seems like someone used that. Wasn't that Barack Obama.
