- "Mr. President, we've come to the conclusion based on various polls that you use the teleprompter more than any president in history..."

OR

- "Mr. President, we have received some recent polling data that your widespread use of the teleprompter could lead to your detriment."

OR

- "Mr. President, your staff is of the opinion that in order to send the right image to the American people, you should abstain from having the teleprompter all the time, even at informal press meetings."

OR

- "Mr. Predident, if you want to prove to the American people that you are smarter than your predecessor, you need to learn to speak without a teleprompter."

I also wonder what his response was. Maybe someone could leak how the teleprompter debacle went down, that would be funny...

Man, do you guys have your own brains? Did he go through 20+ debates with a teleprompter? Does he answer his press conference questions with a teleprompter? Who cares if he delivers his speeches with a teleprompter... Bush did as well. McCain refused and look how terrible his convention speech was.

I see you prefer the smoother spoon fed variety speech, with big fancy words that make you feel confident in your government.

No, I prefer a thinking man running the government and could care less if he uses a teleprompter for a speech... especially when everyone does it. In other words, I know you're trying hard to be funny but it comes across as juvenile.

When your teleprompter has its own blog that should tell you something and it is funny that the man that is suppose to be so much more intelligent then past presidents is the one that uses a teleprompter for every speech he gives

I find it funny that the very posters criticizing Obama's intelligence do not seem to have a basic understanding of spelling and grammar.

Jadex, whats the difference between depending on a paper speach where you have to look down or using a teleprompter where your looking straight ahead? Bush as well as other politicians depended on both just as Obama, why is this different. Just trying to understand the issue? Start with Bush using both.

The thread is about Obama's teleprompter use, not about the posters spelling. Please keep on topic.

They probably said something like "Mr. President, your teleprompter has attracted the attention of every unhinged crackpot in the country. They sweat a lot when they get all worked up, and that's making the livestock nervous. If you'll just wait awhile they'll run off causing a scrap of tinfoil or something, and you'll be able to take advantage of modern technology again as you like to. It's really important. Already this week there have been a number of cerebral aneurysms, lots of random drooling, and soiled britches too numerous to count. You're doing such a fine job as President. You've got the economy turning around in only a few weeks. You've regained the respect of the world. You've even restored our science programs as a beacon to any interested in learning. But if you don't do this one silly thing for us, we just can't be responsible for the consequences."

What does intelligence have to do with reading a speech? Hmmmm lets see NOTHING.

But it does have to do with loosing your place on the teleprompter and not being able to go on with your speech. Now that does have to do with intelligence and knowledge of the topic in which he speaks. Which he mostly "JUST" read the prepared speeches and did not even know what he was reading.
