I was 250 out of 400. So I'm solidly centre-left. Despite the fact that I'm pro life, support traditional families, and am fine with free trade. Go figure.

But Bostonian made a good point: what if you want control of things like health care left to the states? Just because I support UHC doesn't mean I want it funnelled through some central agency like the UK's NHS. Anyway.

The US at one point was very Conservative ... Now that we have become more liberalized, our nation has weakened tremendously.

The US was the most liberal at its founding. The constitution granted powers to the congress to ensure individual freedoms(liberalism is government ensuring individualism). You can look it up.

Looking into legislation to ban longer than 3" knives.

Big governments are anti-freedoms.

So you're saying that the strength of the US is in its balance between liberal and conservative? If so, I agree and believe that we moved way too far to the right and we need our left side to catch up and balance us out.

I think we have started to fall off of what our founding fathers outlined for us. And we need to clean sweep our government and start fresh with people that understand our Constitution and the freedoms granted to the people by our "Creator" and the limits it places on the Government.
I really really do hate the two party classifications that people impose on others and themselves. I am neither Democrat nor Republican, damnit I am an American. And I am sick and tired of being taken advantage of by our government that thinks they knows what is better for me than I do.

Today's liberals are all about expanding government control and regulating every segment of society. Does not jibe with your definition of liberalism.
