Almost makes one think that Bush isn't the only problem with the GOP.

Kind of like now democrats were interested in oversight of the financial markets and the Fannie/ Freddie debacle when they weren't for the longest time prior?

Because they were the party in power for such a long period of time.

Just as the democrats did, but now they don't.

Please don't pretend that there's a substantive differences between these groups of crooks. That kind of partisanship flies in the face of historical fact, and ends up with seagull sauce dripping from its brim.

Horse out of the barn situation for sure but I do have to agree that restoring checks and balances demolished @ the incumbent behest needs to be a serious effort of journalists, the Obama administration, congress, senate, and the supreme court.

Prevention has proven itself priceless in light of trillions squandered. I also believe it will in effect spare Obama from stepping into constitutional doo doo the same way Bush admin did. Don't fear it, embrace it. The structure is meant to be there for us all, in service/ protection to all.

I recommend that close attention be paid to the method and choice of Protectors.

I am no longer shocked by the double standards and hypocracy; at this point I am just amused at the extent of it.

But the democrats stalled any over-site on Fannie Mae and mac. Barney frank even said in front of congress that if they have any problem ;we can always bail them out. Now the last hearing they were told that the problem is so big the feds can't.That during the last two quarters that 53 % and 58% of those that were restructured on their loans are now in foreclosure again.Remember that the democrats have controlled congress fo0r two years now and they refused to allow the audits during that time.
