Ok,I am a 18 Year old african Christian and always will be.I also support Gay Marriage.Everyone deserve the right to happiness and we as society should not stop it.Me and my mom got into an argument a few weeks back and she thought I was crazy.I want everyone regardless of race,sexuality or Religion to be happy and Do what they feel is the best for them.
God said we should not Judge others."Judge NOT, that you be not judged” in Matt 7:1. I know same sex marriage is not right but I am not gonna let my religious views affect others in a negative way.In the Bible,God sat down and talked to Prostitutes,Robbers,and crooks.He never Judged them.Some Christians should stop saying,"I hate Gay People,They should not be able to married".Thats BS.Who are You to tell them what they can or can not do.We are not GOD.Let God Judge them,NOT THE WORLD!!The Government should not stop them from being happy because Of their lifestyle.Why Take away rights from a Group of People because Of their Personal Choice.Choose friends by their Characters people.
God give us Freewill also.He give us a chance to choose How we want to live our lives eventhough there is a Penalty.why can the government not Give Everyone freewill to be and do what they want.Why is the governemt limiting a certain group of People just because they choose to be different.I know the US is a Christian Country establish on Christian values but We should not try to force our religions down other People throats.Let Everyone be who they wanna be and Let God be The Judge!!

Affi I had to come to a cross roads myself decades ago when I was about your age. I questioned my priests persistently about quite a few issues. Gays being one of them. I meant to show them the contradictions they were teaching ordinary folks, and kids like myself, which brought harm to people. That's not what Jesus stood for ever.
I had to excommunicate myself at the time to keep myself a good Christian. The pews have been peacefully emptying out and they still don't understand what it is we've been telling them all along. They presumed we abandoned our faith altogether but instead, like Moses walking the desert, we're waiting for them to see how they've kicked God out of the church. I'm hoping American Catholicism and the Vatican can come to terms with themselves because I cannot willfully harm another soul as if a Crusade. They've encouraged very nasty things using God's name and I for one consider that an embrace of evil under the cloak of holy. Their words matter not when their actions speak louder. Machiavellian tactics are not tools of the faithful. The bible being wielded as a weapon is the worst sacrilege perpetrated upon humanity by hierarchy of any faith.
Should you mean to remove the politics from the pulpit you have options. Unitarians, Episcopalians, and interfaith groups exist that won't abuse your ear. I also appreciate Quakers very much for the example they lead. Keep your God near to your heart, and don't worry about what anyone thinks. Your Bible is your guide and I encourage you to engage your brain with it as it was intended. God is not a proprietary right mortal groups can claim, and when I cut out the middlemen I came into my faith far better than I could in a political church. The good book has survived 2,000 years, it can survive polluted churches. Keep your faith!

Going to hell? well i dont believe in it so i doubt it. But you are not a christian if you believe in homosexual marriage, you cant pick and choose what parts of the bible to believe in, i know for a fact it says in the bible god is against that disgusting act and also says they should be stoned.

This is the problem, and I have addressed this in another thread. If I am a Christian, and I have to trust in God, and be obedient to His word, then I can't vote against my beliefs. PERIOD. One way to help someone's cause that goes against my beliefs is not to vote at all on t hat issue. Our country is leaning more and more secular each year, and I am sure in due time, gays will be able to marry and just like rock and roll and r &b that the moral majority was totally against, will be a topic people will be lol about in the future.
LOL, i dont like shellfish so no i do not eat it, but i am also not religious. I was not picking and choosing but how can you call yourself a christian if you go against something god has said? The op put a scripture part in his post so i said he can not choose and pick what he believes its either all or none.

There is the new Testament and the Old Testament. In Exodus I am scanctioned to sell my daughter into slavery should I so choose. I had a lot of trouble with that one because, what with all the education as so forth I never could come up with a price. The Old Tesament goes on and on with crap like that. It is really just a history of where the Jews came from but not a directive on how to live, besides I like smoked pork.
The new Testament was the "new deal" so to speak. When Jesus saved the world the old rules changed. Jesus never addressed homosexually in his teachings. Paul talked about it a lot but I could not help but thing Palul might have been in some ways a Larry Craig of his time. I have wondered, with the fierce attack on homosexually I kinnda wondered if he were gay. Go to Romans and check out his writings with that in mind.
Look, gays should be able to marry or perhaps we should call it something else. Hell, they should have every right to be as miserable as the rest of us. Seriously though, they should have the convience of a one stop comittment, one contract per couple that give inhertiance, medical decisions, parenting rights, property rights with a court involved for divorce. In other words all the same things legally that a hetro marriage entails. Why is the government involved in enforcing religious law? The government should be issuing contracts and not care or have any involvement whatsoever as to who to only 1 per couple.

Ok so are you fat/obese or someone close to you probably is? (in the obese USA, I am sure you or someone or many, that you know probably are. And Christians they say.) And, if you are mixing fabrics, you are going straight to "hell." That behavior is on par with eating shellfish and homosexual sex, according to the Bible. Also, the Bible clearly states that divorce = adultery. Funny how that behavior is not only not against the law but is OK for "Christian" republican candidates to engage in (i.e., McCain, Reagan, Newt, Guilianni, etc., etc.).
