I keep reading all these anti-gay, anti-black, anti-republican, anti-religion, anti-immigrant, anti-this, anti-that threads. What in the hell is wrong with people? I am guilty of partaking in some of it as is almost everyone on CD, but I think it is getting a little to dramatic and out of hand.

Do you, the educated and tolerant or uneducated and intolerant City Data readers/posters, think that we are headed for an all out CULTURE WAR.

Hmmm. I have a feeling some folks will declare war... and the rest of us will just forget to show up.

Now why would any reasonable and thinking person put an imaginary deity anywhere in their reasoning process on how they should act?

It depends on your definition of "war". Some would say we've been in a culture war since the 1960s.

No matter how you look at it, I see little evidence that the social conservatives are winning in the long run.

Given the recent elections and the mostly liberal opinions that young adults express on social issues, I think liberalism has a bright future.

The air to the "culture war" balloon is quickly escaping out. With this election Americans have overwhelmingly rejected division in favor of unity. If anything, it is the far right--the American Taliban--that is declaring war on the rest of America. Witness the post from jordan08, a poster who definately comes down on the side of the divisive and anti-democratic.

Probably, but if China can have a democracy then what's stopping us from solving our problems?
