free money in DC get in line now.
welfare for the rich.
lets see DOD first saves us from a 2nd 911, for 10 trillion
by brilliant moves prevented another 911, none of which have ever been documented or reported at all.
then we are saved from certain destruction by a 1 trillion bailout.
none of which the certainty of has been documented.
just goes on and on doesn't it.
there is big money in chicken licken the sky is falling

Where is the link, and why? Or are we all so stirred up we are not even going to ask for this? Let's not panic, ok? And I've gone through this thread twice now, and I see no link. What I DO see is a bunch of chickens in a cage. No rhyme or reason. Egads.
American Express shares plunge on bailout report - BusinessWeek (http://www.businessweek.com/ap/financialnews/D94DINV00.htm - broken link)
Ok, AMEX sucks too. I've been with them for a long time and they've always been reasonable EXCEPT for the one time I really needed them. So, I defer to those in this thread...
Anyone who owns a credit card with a company who is losing money (all of them) watch your finance charges very very close. It's computed compounded daily interest in some (maybe all) cases and in some cases is being double to try and soften their losses
Can we say the company is trying to survive by destroying it's customer base.

Can you say I worked for Wells Fargo in my previous life in lines of credit? I am all too familiar with stuff.
This is why I paid my credit cards down to zero. I owe nothing, except for a few hundred each month, which get paid off. Before, in the market, I had great interest rates with credit cards and the market was returning more. Now, I plopped my money into CDs and am debt free. I realize, I am blessed for being able to do this
The MOST EGREGIOUS thing AMEX did to me was the day of my dog's surgery, to save his life. I needed $3500 and had a credit line of 24K. Imagine when they denied my charge (due to a stupid $400 medical visit I didn't even know was on my credit report). I was REALLY ANGRY. Lucky for me I had an extra $3500 dollars lying around. Otherwise, my dog would have died (which he did a few months later )

This still makes me angry.
I would have shot that dog to death. No doubt about that.
