I am so proud our country has placed a black person in its highest office and hope we can all get behind him and fix what is wrong with this country. He will need our help and support; but I think he has that special something that can unite us if we let him.

I think you will find many "pro-choice" people only want reasonable compromise in when abortion should be allowed. - I don't want to turn you post into that - but some of us see it as not such a black and white issue.

I don't think there is a "homosexual" agenda - how does letting gay people have legally binding relationships so they can have insurance, co-own property, make medical decisions, and declare their unity affect YOU? I have no problems with crackdowns at parks, bathrooms just as I have no problem with crackdowns on prostitution.

And there is NO WAY I want a Judeo-Christian GOVERNMENT - keep the Church out of the state and out of our schools! Each parent needs to be resposnbile for raising their children in their own faith. The schools should teach tolerance and respect for others.

So no, the battle of secession was fought once. It is done. I don't have a confederate flag in my house [do have some miniballs] and I don't want one.
I'm proud to share a first name with someone as open-minded and awesome as you.

Canadian pipeline comes through up here too!. The majority of US oil imports.

Still wanna turncoat AGAIN?

Lord knows you still haven't gotten over the last defeat.

Well except for the southern part (I've lived in Michigan all of my life)

I agree 100%

My weapons and cache are intact and well stocked for the blessed day when the failed experiment is finally over. So again, yes, secede. I look forward to seeing my half of the nation on the field of battle running over the bodies of the tyrants and their supporters in our struggle to establish a nation of freedom for all men.
I can't tell if you're kidding around here or what (if so, it's in bad taste IMO), but if I were you I'd be careful with talk like that. And frankly it upsets me to hear it.

I've had a lot of disagreement with both republican and democratic agendas since I've been old enough to vote, but that doesn't mean I want to see either party (politicians or supporters) killed or hurt. I despised Bush and hated the day he signed the Patriot Act and the fear-mongering tactics he used to push it through. I'm sure I'll hate Obama's quasi-socialist policies just as much. Both sides no doubt spew their share of propaganda and do things that hurt our country, but I sincerely hope nothing bad happens to them, misguided though they may be. I'll be happy as long as Obama respects the oath he's about to take to support and defend our constitution.

I absolutely agree with this statement. The founding fathers of our nation never wanted a Theocratic government. They realized the result would ultimately lead to suppression of freedom, and that freedom was what they were fighting for in the first place by gaining independence from England's oppressive rule. With that said, there certainly needs to be some form of agreement on laws, which must be based on a universally sovreign moral authority.

This country could consist of WV, NC, SC, GA, KY, TN, AL, MS, TX, OK, KS, AR, MO.

The USA is too divided and will only become more so.

Half kidding, but what do you think?
Please, please do! Take all of your neocon ideals and don't let the door hit ya on the way out! Half kidding as well...

All contemporary elections have shown us that we are highly divided as a nation. America has not been a single nation for generations. You have capitalists and marxists. There really can be no compromise between the two factions. Our difference is not among trivial matters of preference, but rather fundamental in nature that effect every aspect of our character. That is why every election seems so bitter, because either party when in power, governs in such a way as to oppress one half of our ideological duality. This is the reason that every election is "the most important election ever".

So if you are a capitalist (republican) and a FDR, Johnson, Clinton, or Obama becomes president, it seems like it is the end of the world. The same thing happens to the marxists (democrats) when a Nixon, Reagan, or Bush gets into office. It is natural and makes sense, because capitalism and marxism have no common ground. Marxism is designed to do only one thing and that is to turn a capitalist nation into a communist one over time without a war. A kind of slow brain washing that hides the final result until it is too late. This is the stage of our nation as it stands.

So nearly half of the people in America have some clue as to what happened throughout the history of mankind and of human nature itself, while the other half is ignorant of history and does not understand human nature at all. That is why the nation is so divided now and will continue to be so until this nation collapses. Socialism has already taken hold of this nation generations ago, so the downward spiral to communism is unstoppable. On the republican side, you have a group grasping hopelessly to hold onto a capitalist past from long ago in vain. While democrats actively seek to speed up the process to complete communism. Who is right? That is for you to decide.

Republicans can not return this nation to what it was before FDR, or Lincoln for that matter, so it really is a little depressing to watch them even try. Great motives, but alas a futile effort. Democrats cannot make communism work any more than any other failed nation of the past. Great motives, but alas a futile effort. The futile part is their only commonality. The problem arises that we are all on this sinking ship and want to make our demise comfortable. It only adds insult to injury when the "other" party is in power. Nothing will fix that hurt and anger from both sides.

Back onto the main topic. Yes, secede now! The marxists will fail in a generation or so and no longer plague the earth with their particular brand of communism. The capitalists however will need to create a defining document much better than the constitution in order that we do not repeat the failed history of the states.

What the founding fathers did wrong must be avoided if the future capitalists are to fair any better than their doomed marxist ancestors. As we all now know, there can be no possible way for it to be misconstued in any way whatsoever. We have seen that those who hate, and more often fear, freedom will take the most innocent line of good will and turn it into entitlement for those they like and burden onto their enemies.

It will take great care and many years to craft such a defining document by minds much more enlightened than mine to do so. For those who do not remember what capitalism and freedom are, or who haven't been alive long enough to remember such a time, the libertarians have started to modestly try to redefine what a nation should look like. Perhaps we can use their current platforms and ideas to use as a basic starting foundation for our future document.

MOD CUT
The mod cut the fun out of my post which he has every right to, but I did not encourage violence. I was simply stating my opinions about what I would like to see on the battle field IF such a secession took place.

That being said, I would like to restate a few points, without the drama, that was cut with a cleaver when perhaps a pen-knife would have worked better.

Current democrats should suffer for the support of socialist policies during secession. Current leaders of the democratic party, being highly educated and knowing full well the evils that socialism imposes on its victims, should be held to the highest standard of punishment possible for their crimes against humanity.

No violent wording there, Mr. Mod.

Funny, we were told that bush had a mandate with numbers like that.
Gotta look at the electoral votes, that's what pulls an election.
Gore won the popular vote, you might remember.

One of the concerns people should have in this secession talk is where they're going to get the money. Most of the $$ comes from the blue states in the form of taxation.
_________
Sonrise, the traditional states would be the original 13. Yours are not among them.

I agree with these principles, but think they should happen in these United States of America. Honestly, apart from the "secession" and "adherence to traditional Judeo Christian values" bits, I cannot understand why so many would consider your valuable ideas out of whack. Too many people these days are consumed with their selfish lifestyles.

GhostInTheShell,

I was not kidding. I do not think that socialism is funny, it has always been and always will be an abomination. Those that advance its ideology upon the ignorant masses have not the slightest sympathy from me and never will. It is not like this crap has not been tried a million times all over the world with horrific consequences to those that suffer under its influence. If it were some sort of new idea, and in theory it is admirable, the perpetrators could possibly be excused for not understanding human nature or reality. But to in this day and age, with all of history showing its complete and utter evil nature, to still espouse and promote such an agenda is beyond forgiveness.
