Good for them. Time to bite the bullet sooner rather than later.

China can do whatever they want. But what would be their advantege now in weakening the USA?

America was once the most powerful nation on earth, and also the stupidest. America's entire economy was based on thr principle of self-fulfilling prophecy: If you forecast it, they will come.

Now, China is the most powerful nation on earth., but far from stupid They can destroy America at their pleasure. But right now, the presence of America is to their economic and political benefit. America is voluntarily doing everything that China could ever hope for. Eagerly buying every piece of crap China puts out, from HD TVs to novelty rubberized dog vomit, and at the same time, carrying out a foreign policy that makes everybody in the world hate America and the Americans that gleefully accept responsibility for their government's moronic menacing excesses and at the same time line up like lemming to psis away their own civil rights and freedom. So why would China want to stir that pot?

I'm guessing that you, like myself, aren't privy to all of China's strategy and agenda as pertains to the overthrow of western civilization. Perhaps in their eyes, it's time to make their next move, that includes further damaging our economy, not that it needs any more help. Maybe they've moved up their timetable? At any rate, I would guess that since Lehmann Bros, WaMu, and AIG all seem to be in straits, at this very moment, and Fannie and Freddie(where the $$$ in question are to be eliminated) have been socialized with USA backing, they feel the dollar is in for a serious fall in the very near future.(Perhaps later today) Notice the article doesnt say they will eliminate their holdings in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, just the portions held in US Dollars. In the end, the Chinese will still end up controlling the US real estate, without taking the loss from the devaluing Dollar at the same time.
