According to the report Blinken has offered some sanction relief as nuclear talks progress.

I guess Raisi blinked. Iran's new president was determined not to give an inch but I guess he needs the sanction relief. He promised to improve the economy and the deal with China won't be enough.

Iran will always needs western and regional partners seeing as not many countries besides China are willing to bare the cost of sanction violations.

Shows the power of the USA.

No, it does not. Iran is doing just fine as is, go there and see for yourself.
Oddly enough, I the largest port in Iran always was exempt from sanctions, business as usual.
Iran is more than likely to go Russia/China route, along with India. To join the new created currency zone.

But that is not the interesting part. Interesting part is that the USA is caving in. It now desperately needs to prevent any more countries join Russia/China pact. Hence loosening of the chokehold. Not because Rajani blinked. It’s Blinken blinking. Iran does fine, it’s a bribe, and poor, to that matter. Iranians were in politics way before natives erected their first tipi in the country. Do NOT belittle Iranian politicians. They have centuries of political wisdom.

Can't agree here. Iran is looking towards both Russia and China. It's not going to change either, no matter what the US does.

There's a lot of chickens coming home to roost for America.

I totally agree with you and started coming to that conclusion myself.
I do believe we are witnessing the start of the fall of a once great empire.

I just don't see why else Raisi would do this.

I was there last year. Things seemed good in Teheran. Lots of new businesses, streets were bustling, etc.

But my family told me the economy was terrible (even though they seemed to be living fine). I don't think the deal with China was enough to stop inflation.

Just me guessing, not 100% sure.

Who are we to tell other countries that they cannot have deterrence?
