I have been seeing on the news where hundreds of people are lining up to get a covid test. In some cases people are waiting for hours in their cars to be tested.
I wonder why so many are lining up?
Do they have symptoms or do they need a negative test to travel or something?
Would you line up for a test if you felt fine but thought you may have been exposed?
Of course we know that not all the tests are accurate with false readings plus after a negative result one could stop at a store on the way home and contract the virus.

What good is all this testing?
imagine a virus so deadly that you have the time and energy to drive to a testing center and wait in your car for several hours to know that you are "infected"
I would assume these people have symptoms? I am pro-vaccine and pro-mask, but I agree that going to get tested with no symptoms doesn't make much sense save for a few specific circumstances. Such as: planning to see a high-risk person (but since you can get exposed after your test, this is an imperfect plan) or needing it to travel or for work.
Because the CDC told people to test..that's why.
And they changed their reporting guidelines on 12/30.
Then they told people if you have the sniffles it MIGHT be covid.
So people are running out and testing because "the CDC said so".
Another reason - if you've been exposed, you have to have a negative test to go to work. That's the policy at some
businesses.
Believe it or not, there are places that require a vaccine or regularly testing WITHOUT the gov't telling them to.
Meantime - yep - travel. 2 million people per day fly (USA) and many of them get a test first. It's alot.
