So the US should be sending aid to prop up communism?
Is blm stupid. The communist government suppresses and opresses black people in Cuba. Most of the people protesting agaisnt the communist regime are black Cubans.
How in the world can you read that statement and think it's a support for the Cuban people?
How in the world can you say the statement supports communism? They said the Cubans have the right to choose their own government. We have spend the last 60 years trying to topple the communist government. I get why. They are way too close to us to allow them to have nukes, etc. Problem is we failed at regime change and the people there have suffered for 60 years. And what we did before Castro took over is what turned the Cuban people against us.
Could be when Cuba allowed Russia to bring in missiles pointed at the United States and allowed a military build up there , the United States will not forget that.
We all wouldn't be here right now if CHE had his way he wanted use the nukes the soviets knew right there they needed to get those missiles out of cuba!!
The statement is not in support of communism as you claim. It is about ending the embargo with Cuba which I support. After all we trade with communist China which had wide support from the republican party and the right. So what is the difference? the right supports the embargo to gain Cuban vote support in Florida. In the same breath the right knocks the left for open border policy because those immigrants tend to vote {D}.
No we should not be sending aid but should be ending the embargo and any sanctions on Cuba, after all the right chirps they are all about free trade or are those just talking points.
China and Cuba are different. China is not right out our back door. I'm no fan of China, but to compare the two isn't grounded in reality.

Honestly? Maybe make a colony out of Cuba? I wonder how open the Cuban people would be to that? Maybe statehood eventually?
