"Everyone can do what they want" to an extent - but not to the extent that they can infect others through their stubborness. If it only affected them, fine; but it doesn't just affect them.

I agree Trump did the right thing regarding vaccine development. It was kind of a no brainer. He was presented with the option of funding vaccine development and stream lining the process or doing nothing. Europe did the same thing. But that is what I do not get. Many Trump voters point to Trump's vaccine plan but then decide not to get vaccinated. I get being against masks and shut downs but the point of the vaccine is to stop needing to do those things. There are states with just 30% vaccination rates. They could get slammed again while high vaccination states will be doing fine.
And yes everyone can do what they want. If you are vaccinated you can do what you want with the very slight risk of getting a mild flu. Yes certain immuno-deficient people can still get very ill and die. But the vast majority of people who are going to get ill from covid, give it to others and possibly die will be those who choose not get the vaccine. They are not a problem for me.
