What is the source? Who is accusing white men of having a fetish for Asian women? If this is just an idea, a feeling that you the OP has then I would say what straight man is not attracted to an attractive woman of any race?
If this idea of the fetish comes from some professor at a university then that would indicate why white men are singled out and a word such as "fetish" is used. Fetish implies something unusual and even creepy. If the charges do come from a Left leaning Professor we all know there is a war being waged by the Left against white males. This war accuses them of creating many of the worlds problems from racism to false notions of supremacy to keeping women and minorities down in our society.
White males are the new enemy and accusing them of having a Fetish is just another way to smear them.

I think this “fetish” (a derogatory term) is just part of that.
It's a real claim put forth by overly PC lunatics that whine out of one side of their mouths about white standards of beauty and then claim white guys interested in asian women is solely due to their racist ideas that she'll be submissive.
Years ago I had a co-worker (asian gal) that publicaly shared that sentiment about white guys wanting asian gals (I noped out of that discussion immediately) but they were a generally bitter person with deep family issues so I tried to avoid them at all costs.
I personally feel that people upset about white men\asian women is just basic racism or gender animosity on their part where the hater is trying to apply a veneer of legitimacy to their bigotry by trying to make the people that they hate out to be the bad guy.

Nah, they're separate. The Asian fetish complaint is at least 25 years old in my experience.
The recent attacks on asians that the left is trying to blame on the right is just political opportunism and misdirection considering we all see in the news whom has been targeting asians and well suffice to say there is a reason the NYC asian hate crimes taskforce is witholding key statistics in their reports.
Like I said, try to upset them with having a good reason to like someone, aka: language or the way they look. I for example like Japanese and the way they look just like some girls like French. Then you'll still get attacked by the bitter retards but you need a reason for your evil laugh...
Whether it is a fetish or not why does any of this matter? When I lived in Japan it was considered a fetish to go after foreigners solely. Gaisen is what they called it which translates into foreigner specialist. In the gay scene it is rice queen for those that like Asians and potato queen for those that like whites. Bean queen is recent for Latinos.
Call it yellow fever call it what you will. I think a lot of white chicks especially those that live in Asia dislike it because their partner has a lot of good looking people to pull from and they have to actually try to look good stay fit etc.
Asians know how to treat a man. They will cook you dinner give you a massage and we won’t go the next step all in a day. Try asking your white girlfriend to do that.
Some of my post is humorous and some of it true. Asian women have the attitude that pleasing men is normal. White girls hate them because they think the man’s role is to pay for dinner.

However it's quite to opposite in the Phillipines, and something not that many people know is that the PI is a matriarchal society. I have a friend who went there to bride shop. His reasoning being that as an Asian society the women would be very attentive to their man like in Japan.
I warned him in no uncertain terms he was way off the trail but he didn't listen. He came back having found his "deam woman" and went through all the hoops to mary her and bring her over here. He told me that I was the one mistaken and that this woman was deferential, made him delicious meals, if his beer was low she was right there with a fresh one. Oh sure. I bet. But after she was made a legal citizen here and they began cohabitating that all changed much to his chagrin.
She turned a 180 and her true PI nature came out. LOL, if he want's to go somewhere alone he has to have her permission. There ain't no hanging with the boys. It's a VERY rare thing she lets him out of her sight, and he has to defer to her in every household decision made. He wanted to go deer hunting with me, which was going to be a week long trip and she pitched a complete fit when he said he wanted her to stay home. Sheesh she couldn't cut it at hunting camp. Not my hunting camp. Deer camp for me comes up a bit...rustic. Which he knew but he had a tag for the same area and it's a gimme I wasn't going alone. He wasn't going at all if she had to stay home.
Needless to say he wound up using his tag for fire starter and my son went with me instead. He didn't have a tag for my area but he went anyway cuz he wanted to. If you want a high profile example of Phillipines matriarchy I have two words. Imelda Marcos. Ferdinand wasn't the one who was really calling the shots during his tenure as top dog in the PI. Anyway, not ALL Asian culture is like Japan. Japanese culture , true traditional/ historical Japanese culture, has always fascinated me. Not because of the women being very attentive to their man o any of the base stuff being discussed here I.E. "Asian fetish" regarding White men. I did date a Japanese girl for a while in high school. She was an exchange student and we hit it off. She was cute as a pen full of kittens and was also quite traditional Japanese. The experience was lovely, and my returning her attentiveness was a new experience for her. She often told me that Japanese men do not do many of the things I did to show her my affection and care. I just told her I'm not Japanese and we aren't in Japan. Miyuki was her name. It was hard for us both when she went home to Japan.
But my liking for her had nothing to do with any "fetish." My Dad who spent a great deal of time in Japan in the Navy just loved her. Told me she was a keeper, alas not to be. I also dated a Chinese girl in my early 20s. She was 18 I was just turned 20 and it was hardly a fetish oriented thing either. That ended badly when her folks found out about me. Her dating a Qui Lo was not well received. Japan and China both have a distinctive take on race. If these racial justice types think we have a racial problem here they need to see China and Japan. Up close.
I suppose some White men may have a "fetish" for Asian women. But truly is it actually a fetish? I see nothing wong with a guy being attracted to Asian women. To my mind that's no different from a preference for blondes over brunettes over red heads tall short blue or green eyes whatever. Physically Asian women I find very attractive. That doesn't make it a fetish. Sheesh why does EVERYTHING have to carry some sort of sexual connotation?
That last is where I place my opinion on this "fetish" issue.

Just FYI, a ENORMOUS factor in wars and tribal conflicts in general center around competition for mates. In fact, I would suggest that this supersedes economic rivalries.

Not really a fetish. Men like women who are very feminine and almost all Asian women are and they look young even in their 40s. Women like men who are big and strong and that’s an extremely rare thing for an Asian male to be.

I don't think they are overthinking, I just think at their core they have racist\anti-male beliefs and so pretty much anything white guys do is going to be negatively attributed.
