This is what the "defunded police" are now doing (Levin, crime)

The leftists wanted to "defund the police" but the cops still need a job so they took them off of street patrol so criminals could mug and assault innocent bystanders on the street without any consequences (even if the whole incident was recorded). They put those street cops in schools. Nope, not to stop school fights and assaults but to make sure students keep their masks on and send them home if they pull them down.
Awesome. I’m so looking forward to social workers whipping the thugs into shape. Even moreso when those that cried the loudest to defund them have nobody to protect them. It’s going to make for more great tv.
Why am I not surprised, that the liberals think they've accomplished something positive with this.
Because police and because Trump are big meanies....and birds of a feather flock together. No police gives them the ability to continue to be opportunists.
They really believe that a cop intimidating a docile 10 year old who pulls down his mask for a few seconds in class is a better use of resources than going after militant thugs who will burn down the city if the cop shoots them in self defense. The docile 10 year old won't fight back so no doubt it's easier for the cop. I'm sure the entire police force is hoping to be resigned to mask duty at schools in low crime areas.
Honestly I had the idea about going to police academy and becoming a cop...the problem is I effectively make $30/hour in a job that is much easier already. Still I could move anywhere and feel like I'm making a difference instead of being a cog in the machine. I dunno... I'll see what happens.
I'd end up not enforcing some law the powers that be want me to enforce and get myself fired. I don't believe in blind obedience to the system...I'm more of a jury nullification kind of common sense guy. A lot of time it's the higher ups that cause most of the problems in a system like ours.
