Progresssivision is a term that many of us associate with the current administration and the extreme liberal destruction of the US.

Progressive is simply a self serving label that in most cases isn't close to truth.

I think of it in the same way many people in Australia use nicknames. Redheads are called "bluey" and fat blokes are called "slim". Regressives call themselves "progressive."

So in essence, to be "progressive" means to reject conservative Christianity, which conservatives interpret as rejection and even hostility against them as people. They get very, very offended about that.
Who are you answering for, exactly? Doesn't seem to be yourself, but then I can't imagine that you'd try to speak for a group as large and varied as Christians.

Because "progressivism" is a lie, designed to fool people into believing you're not someone who wants to use government to control their lives and their labor, and take away their resources to give to someone else who didn't earn them.

Such people used to be called "liberals" (another misnomer). But when more and more people started figuring out that liberals were actually socialistic big-government addicts, the liberals cast around for a new name that didn't have the foul odor the liberalists earned for themselves. "Progressives" was chosen.

But now more and more people realized they were bring lied to again, and that "progressives" were just the same socialistic big-govt addicts with yet another new name.

The "pause of some sort" came from half the people not knowing what "progressive" meant, and the other half being too polite to call you the liar you are.

You badly need a new dictionary.

I generally associate progressivism with being not necessarily left wing but rather just very effective and strongly believing in your ideas to reform a government or help the government. I think the biggest example of this is the Civil Rights movement and Civil Rights and Voting Rights acts. They aren’t left wing to us today and I didn’t live in the 60s so I can’t say what it was interpreted like then but the reason why I see it as progressive is because it was a reform. People were progressive in fighting for what they believed in, organizing, etc. and it was also progressive in reform and change. But is this really a big deal. So I ask why does the term progressivism scare people, and why is it suddenly associated with left wing politics when there are many right wing progressives?
Progressive is just relabeled Marxist.
They were not going to come right out and call it Communism.
There is no "private property" today, or did you not know that. You do not hold title to your land... You hold a deed. You do not own the land you think you paid for.

This is the dumbest thread I've come across.

Progressivism or progress means making progress for humanity by making policies and laws that benefit the majority eg the average hard working citizen and the poor and the wealth gap that keeps getting larger every year.

We never have progress because morons like to argue about politics like its a team sport. You have team red/republican and team blue/democrat.

I didn't like trump and I don't like biden neither did jack for the majority of citizens in this country and if you say my pay went up because of trump you are lying to yourself and everyone else.

Another example of an arrogant "Progressive" that can't get it through their heads that not everyone agrees with their definition of "progress".

Not everyone wants change for the sake of change.

Not everyone thinks redistribution is "progress".
