I'm sorry but I have a real hard time believing that anyone in the United States of America in January thought this was the motivation to the riot.

Quote:
‘When the political scientist Robert Pape began studying the issues that motivated the 380 or so people arrested in connection with the attack against the Capitol on Jan. 6, he expected to find that the rioters were driven to violence by the lingering effects of the 2008 Great Recession.”
I don't care what side of the aisle you were on...all of the rhetoric flying from each direction best/worst President, fair/stolen election, legitimate/illegitimate challenger - and the political scientist thought a 13 year old event caused this?

Anyone with two brain cells could figure that out. After last summer and what's happening with BLM, cancel culture, etc, I applaud them and see them as heroes. They sent a clear message. This is just getting started, and we will win any fight they bring. No one will take my country from me.

Thats because it's becoming a reality. Stick your head in the sand as long as you want, ignorance is bliss as they say.

Easier then an introspective analysis of their own short comings and failures.
