ive done both at the university level and you miss a lot with online classes. Even as an adult that social interaction and the ability to network, build friendships and discuss information in a casual manner is very important. i cannot imagine being without that social interaction as a child during a time of life where we are supposed to learn how to live with each other. My friends with school age kids have always been very hands on in helping their kids with learning so even now their kids learning is fine but the kids themselves are going stir crazy(along with their parents) and my friends wonder how their kids are going to cope when re-introduced to real life interactions.

Jen Psaki says they don’t have data saying online school is any worse than in person learning

The number of things the Democrats don't have data on, boggles the mind. No wonder nothing they try to do, works.

Do kids even have many real life interactions these days? Seriously, they are all on apps like TikTok and have their heads buried in their phones even when they are surrounded by others. Online IS the new socialization for them. I support schools opening for "learning" but as far as socialization goes they are going to keep doing what they have been doing during the pandemic.

A person saying they don't have enough data to answer a question is preferable to lying and making up an answer.

I'd argue it's an excuse, because they don't want to open schools. Through that lens, it's not preferable to lying, it's pretty much equivalent.

Like if I was your child and I told you, "I don't have data on whether making my bed is actually better than not making it" or "I don't have data on whether now is actually the best time to take out the trash" (so I'm not going to do it).

For there to be data, there would have to be studies. Have such studies been done in the US?

If not, saying " we don't have any data" would be 100% accurate. Anecdotes aren't data.
