How will this play out in the USA in the 21st century?
Well that's how Hitler got into power, by opposing a socialist revolution. The same with fascist dictatorships around the world. It's not communism or fascism that's the problem, it's fanatically following an evil leader with unchecked power. Lucky for us we have checks and balances and fair and honest elections. We the people don't Heil Hitler for too long. So far, the demigods sooner or later get tossed out on their fat butts, and common sense and decency replaces fanatical hero worship.

1) Hitler carried out a socialist revolution. What Hitler actually opposed was "globalism".

2) What if you were following a good leader with unchecked power. Would that be a problem?

3) No we don't.

4) Hitler and Mussolini were elected democratically. Had Trump not been an unprincipled idiot he could have easily become a dictator.

The Hitler wannabe is about to split up the Republican Party ensuring Democrat victories for the next decade.

Yes, that was how it happen in Imperial Russia, and many of those armed citizens were full Bolshevik supporters.

The Russian people were not "massively armed" then as We, The People, are today.

I don't remember Jimmy Carter's supporters engaging in treason after his defeat.

Carter’s opposition wasn’t paranoid, woke, and oppressive for the entire 4 years of his administration either.
Not justifying Jan 6th, but that was mostly an idiotic and frustrated reaction to the leftist extremism of recent years. They should know not to fight stupid with stupid or childishness with more childishness.
It seemed to have nothing to do with obeying words spilling forth from Trump’s mouth except for the part where they decided to take a phrase, make it into something physical and generally be morons.

I used to be more against guns, but seeing how the far-left radicals are trying to overturn democracy vis a one-party rule and silencing all dissent, I changed my mind. The citizens need to be armed.

P.S. am I mistaken, or did Hitler confiscate guns as part of his early actions to rid the world of Jews?
I am with you. I used to be a proponent of gun control but after a summer of blm rioting and my city being sacked twice, I now love guns. Especially considering police forces have been told to stand aside.

Relatively speaking, yes they were, and this includes the Cossacks, which was a military state, and who took their weapons to the fight along side the Russian army for centuries through WW1.

If anything, "we the people" are massively under armed compared to the military. Back then, the people and the military were pretty comparable.

That's assuming the military would side with the subverted usurpers.

We're in a different unstable time, imo.
