If this had been an actual coup attempt, they would have addressed the public IMMEDIATELY, to let them know they are now in control and they have seized power.

Many people on this board are trying to exaggerate the incident beyond belief! It was a minor act of civil disobedience, nothing more nothing less. For Petes sake, the whole thing was over within hours! LOL
It's largely because they follow a leader who's inarticulate. He can barely say three words, such as Stop The Steal or Storm the Capitol, but that's enough for like-witted people to commit to those actions. But what happens after that?

What's a little bit of death and destruction? MOST of the protest was peaceful.

And people like you buy into this BS narrative about how this was some legitimate attempt at a "coup." They let a bunch of screaming harpies waltz into the Capitol and OCCUPY Congressional offices during the Kavanagugh proceedings with no issue, as well.

In fact, OCCUPATION of government buildings happens quite often in this country.
We don't talk about that because they weren't Republicans.

How can people be so stupid to believe there was ever a “threat to democracy†or whatever?? The scariest thing about this whole situation is that it showed what raging morons certain people are.
Optics and politics. Same reason why people accused BLM of being anarchists and savages. A bit over the top. But it's optics and politics. Make the other side seem worse.

An unsuccessful, thwarted coup attempt is still very dangerous because they're still out there and they're getting angrier and more motivated. These thugs are still out there, and appear to be gaining momentum.

And now, as with most of the summer, I don't feel safe going downtown in my capital city, because all the violence that continues to happen/is likely to happen.

ORRRRRR........ nobody had intent to actually "SEIZE THE GOVERNMENT."

99% of the people that went in, went in to cause a disruption. Period.

Calling this a "COUP" is absolute pearl clutching histrionics for dummies who have been asleep for the past four years of political violence, excuses and calls for same by Democratic politicians.

Again.... what COUP attempt?

Nobody in this group had the means or methods to SEIZE POWER FROM CONGRESS.

To commit acts of violence and mayhem? Yes. But to SEIZE POWER? With what army? And with what authority do they subsequently take control over the legislative branch?

You people are working yourselves into an absolute tizzy over nothing. Buying into BS rhetoric meant to be a smokescreen for Democrats to enact draconian laws, and to regain the moral high ground liberals lost over the past year with their embracing of riots and death.
