Yep, the proof of this is in the video of them AFTER they gained access, they were standing around, taking pictures, chatting, etc...
If this had been an actual coup attempt, they would have addressed the public IMMEDIATELY, to let them know they are now in control and they have seized power.
Many people on this board are trying to exaggerate the incident beyond belief! It was a minor act of civil disobedience, nothing more nothing less. For Petes sake, the whole thing was over within hours! LOL
It's largely because they follow a leader who's inarticulate. He can barely say three words, such as Stop The Steal or Storm the Capitol, but that's enough for like-witted people to commit to those actions. But what happens after that?
Why is it interesting? Alex Jones is correct that this group shot their movement in the foot.
And people like you buy into this BS narrative about how this was some legitimate attempt at a "coup." They let a bunch of screaming harpies waltz into the Capitol and OCCUPY Congressional offices during the Kavanagugh proceedings with no issue, as well.
In fact, OCCUPATION of government buildings happens quite often in this country.
We don't talk about that because they weren't Republicans.
The country with the strongest, most advanced military on the planet is not going to be taken over by a disorganized lunatic mob.
If things had escalated further, these fools would have been crushed, there was never any threat of the government getting overthrown.
How can people be so stupid to believe there was ever a “threat to democracy†or whatever?? The scariest thing about this whole situation is that it showed what raging morons certain people are.
Optics and politics. Same reason why people accused BLM of being anarchists and savages. A bit over the top. But it's optics and politics. Make the other side seem worse.

Nobody in this group had the means or methods to SEIZE POWER FROM CONGRESS.
To commit acts of violence and mayhem? Yes. But to SEIZE POWER? With what army? And with what authority do they subsequently take control over the legislative branch?
