Really?? That's your answer? "more masks and distance than a Trump rally"?? LOL.. such a immature response. How about saying both are wrong. Jeez.. this "I do it because you do even though its wrong" attitude of both parties needs to stop. Its so childish.

If you have a lake cabin and you are vulnerable that’s where I would be.

Covid on backburner.

Mask up and take precautions.

DeSantis didn't, he just allowed local municipalities to decide for themselves. Until 2 months ago, when he passed an executive order forbidding them for shutting down businesses.

I will see you all in hell before I put up with another shutdown.

Shut downs ? You guys really want to see '09 all over again, but worse don't you ? It's scary to see my fellow Americans want to see our country crumble.

Is there some sort of mental block in people that actually believe this virus can be combated ? That any leader can do something about it ? Seriously, what else do you think can be done ? Until a vaccine is created, tested, and implemented Covid is in our lives, period. Not a thing is going to change, unless we had 100% compliance and sorry, that will not happen.
Learning how to live with it is key, not waiting around for some miracle. Protect the vulnerable, boost ones immune system, social distance when possible, sanitize and mask up. That is it. And even then, it just takes one and the whole thing falls apart. I'm dealing with it now. My wife is in the other room sleeping, she tested positive last Tuesday. We've done everything I posted, as much as we could and she still got it. The majority of us will eventually get it. That is just the reality of this. Why do so many struggle with reality ?

Very, very unlikely.

Covid is surging in many regions of many states. Makes no sense to “ shut down” an entire state, let alone country, assuming a POTUS sought to do so.

While those who test positive are told to self quarantine, nothing forces them to do so, let alone anyone they may have exposed. There is no practical way to monitor this, assuming there was a will to do so.

Unlike POTUS who was hospitalized out of an abundance of caution, those testing positive are not medically supervised. Vitals and oxygen levels are not monitored. Those admitted to hospitals tend to be substantially more deteriorated than POTUS was.

It has been and remains all about attempting to avoid overwhelming hospitals. While some states may have a surplus of beds, a surplus is useless without MDs, nurses and techs.

That’s up to states and sometimes local governments within states.
